Mother earth has given us a lot of natural products that can be used to make your hand soft and smooth. Here are some home remedies for a quick solution for your dry hands.

1. Petroleum Jelly

When it comes to moisturization, vaseline is one of the most popular and effective moisturizers. It contains powerful moisturizing properties.

Ingredients

  • Vaseline- As Required
  • A pair of cotton gloves/ A pair of socks

Direction

  • After finishing all your activities, wash your hands with mild soap.
  • Apply vaseline to both hands before going to bed. Massage it for a few seconds.
  • Wear a pair of cotton gloves. Instead of cotton gloves, you can also use old socks which you don’t use anymore and go to bed.
  • Keep doing this every night for soft, supple hands.

2. Malai (Fresh Cream)

Malai is the layer of fat that you can see on the surface of the milk. Although Malai is used in many dishes, it is also beneficial for nourishing your skin. It has been used by many Indian women for centuries. It nourishes your skin and makes it flawless. 

Ingredients

  • Malai- As Required

Direction

  • Remove some malai from the surface of the milk.
  • Massage it to your hand for a few seconds.
  • Leave it for 15-20 minutes.
  • Rinse it off.
  • You can do this every night for softer hands.

3. Honey

Because of the texture, Honey can make your hands soft, smooth, and moisturize. It can also hydrate your skin and can give a soothing effect because of the emollient nature of honey.

Ingredients

Raw Honey- As Required

Directions

  • Take a small amount of honey.
  • Apply it to your hands.
  • Leave it for 20-30 minutes.
  • Rinse it off.
  • You can apply honey twice a day daily for better results.

4. Coconut Oil

Coconut has a lot of benefits and is also used in cooking. Similar to honey, coconut oil is also an emollient that provides hydration to your skin. 

Ingredients

  • Organic Coconut Oil- 2 Tsp
  • A pair of gloves/ Socks

Direction

  • Apply coconut oil to your hands
  • Massage it for a few seconds.
  • Wear a pair of gloves or socks. 
  • Leave it overnight. 
  • Do this twice a day daily. 

5. Almond Oil

Almond oil contains fatty acids that moisturize your skin and makes your hand soft and smooth. 

Ingredients

  • Almond Oil- 2 Tbsp

Directions

  • Apply almond oil on both hands
  • Massage it for a few seconds.
  • Put on a pair of gloves or socks and leave it overnight.
  • Do this daily for softer hands.

6. Olive Oil

Olive oil contains fatty acids and antioxidants. It moisturizes your skin and makes your hand soft. 

Ingredients

  • Olive oil- As Required

Directions

  • Take a small amount of olive oil in your hands. 
  • Apply to both the hands.
  • Wear gloves or socks and leave it overnight.

7. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is rich in polysaccharides that moisturizes your skin and makes your hand soft.

Ingredients

  • Aloe Vera gel- 1 Tbsp

Direction

  • Either extract a tablespoon of aloe vera gel from an aloe leaf or take an organic aloe vera gel. 
  • Apply it to your hands
  • Leave it for 15-20 minutes
  • Wash it off. 
  • Do this two times daily.

8. Yogurt

Yogurt contains lactic acid which can rejuvenate your skin. It also moisturizes the skin and makes it soft. 

Ingredients

  • Yogurt- 1 Tbsp

Direction

  • Apply the yogurt to your both hands
  • Leave it for 10-15 minutes. 
  • Rinse it off. 
  • Do it daily for soft and smooth hands. 

9. Egg Yolks

Due to the presence of a high amount of lecithin compound, egg yolks are beneficial for skin conditioning. 

 

Ingredients

  • Egg Yolk- 1 

Directions

  • Whisk the egg yolk.
  • Apply it to your hands.
  • Leave it for 15-20 minutes.
  • Rinse it with mild soap to avoid egg odor.
  • Apply this 3-4 times a week.  

10. Oatmeal

Dry skin is one of the common reasons for making your hands rough. Oatmeal is one of the perfect solutions for this. It improves the skin texture and moisturizes it well. 

Ingredients

  • Oatmeal- 1 Tbsp
  • Coconut Oil- ½ tsp

Direction

  • Grind the oatmeal and make a powder
  • Add half tsp of coconut oil to it. Mix it well.
  • Apply it to your hands.
  • Leave it for 15-20 minutes.
  • Rinse it off.
  • Do this daily for better results.

11. Sugar and Lemon Scrub

The grainy texture present in sugar granules can exfoliate your skin and prevent it from making dry. It hydrates your skin properly.

Whereas lemons are rich in vitamin C and citric acid which can brighten and lighten your skin. 

Ingredients

  • Sugar- As Required
  • Lemon- Half

Directions

  • Squeeze the juice of a half lemon. 
  • Sprinkle some sugar on it.
  • Apply it to your hands and massage it using the lemon peel.
  • Do this until the sugar gets dissolved.
  • Wash it off.
